Poole Harbour Poole Harbour is easily one of the UK’s finest teaching venues. Here at our HQ in the FCWatersorts Academy, situated between the sea and the harbour, a mere hop, skip and jump from either beach, we’ve got it covered. |

Waist deep water
Learn in your depth. You will still learn all the essential skills for deep water kiting, but you will be able to learn more as you preserve energy, not having to swim each time you stop. Knowing that you can touch the bottom will help you concentrate on the job in hand, increasing your confidence and ultimately your progress. Due to the nature of the harbour we are not restricted by tides. If the wind is there we can be on the water, all day, every day. Due to it’s low depth the water in the harbour is noticeably warmer than the open see.
Wind direction
In the UK our prevailing wind comes from the west. Poole harbour’s geographic location makes it ideal for the majoritory of wind directions. Also in the warmer months we are gifted with an afternoon see breeze. So even if the weatherman says there will be no wind, we often get some. Yet again less time waiting for ideal wind conditions. For more advanced clinics we are able to use the open sea, launching from the award winning Sandbanks Beach, as the academy has fully equipped rescue boats. This means that you can learn in anything but a wind directly from the North.
Classroom
On those days when it’s a tad chilly to stand around pontificating over who did the best wipe-out, we can enjoy a hot drink in the warmth of the clubhouse and judge the video footage in the comfort of the classroom.
Changing room and hot showers
It may be OK if you are local to Poole or are fortunate enough to own a dirty great caravan, but lets face it, changing on the side of the street whilst the rain attacks your leather upholstery should best be avoided. Particularly when you could be lathering yourself down in a cosy warm shower. Need we say more.
Easily accessible
Poole is but an hour down the M3 from London, close enough to Bristol, Oxford and only 2 hours from Northampton. We are easy to get to.
Beautiful Dorset
Why not bring your friends and family. Dorset has so much to offer: the chilled pubs of Studland, fantastic walks of the Jurassic Coast, incredible cycling around europe’s largest natural harbour, award winning beaches, red squirrels and endless water-sports opportunities. |
