With a no wind and drizzle forecast for Poole and a few possible good easterlies predicted for the Norfolk coast, it was time to pack up the van and return to our old stomping ground.
We arrived to a stunning sunset and the sight of two lone kiters enjoying the evening wind. Stepping out into the bracing airs we decided to wait for the next day.
Well worth the wait, Karine and I joined Greg and Nick on 8m and 10m kites. After an hour of death whish kiting Karine decided to head butt the ocean at mach 12… Fair play though later that afternoon she was back on the horse – kite looping away the memories of her ambulance, thanks chaps.
Dave Mcarthy must get a mention for some super smooth wave riding, true old school on vintage kite and mini-mal. An inspiration to watch, and no doubt fuelling the sale of surfboards in this part of the UK. Well-done Nick, for his toe-side front loop transitions. Great to see all the old faces again. Thank you Piltch for the warm shower – much appreciated. And thank you pretty boy Rob, one of the Doctors at Cygnus, who put my kite back together after I foolishly ripped it in two. We will return for the summer easterlies. |
