Hello,
Well we’ve just spent a fantastic 6 days in and around the Cesme peninsula. It would have been 7 but for some sort of altercation between one engine of our plane and some unfortunate and obviously large bird. After an emergency landing, a 19 hour delay and zero sleep we arrived. It blew for 4 out of 6 days, and yes the missed day was windy too. Pretty much used x-bow 9m and 7m every day, and sometimes switchblade 12m at Pirlanta.
Highlights were without doubt the warm waters and unbelievably constant winds of Pirlanta beach, the hospitality of local Cabrinha legend Husnu, and the melt in your mouth lamb (kuzu), which we BBQ’d most evenings, along with the king prawns, amazing veg and local vin rouge – blissful.
Our last two days were hot, over 40 degrees, so we slothed about Alacati’s amazing market, snorkelled and generally did our best impressions of lazy cats.
This was a recce mission for a new clinic spot, and as it’s all thumbs up we’ll be going back laden with a group of hopefuls next year.
Cheerio
