The Beginning

Even if you have flown kites or are accomplished at any other board sport, it is still a must to start off at the beginning. A IKO/BKSA level 1 and 2 course is the ultimate way to approach this exciting sport. The aim of this 2 day course is to get you to a stage where you are self-sufficient, safe and confident enough to go and practice on your own. Some people will end up riding 500m, others 5m, your pace will dictate.

We are unique as we guarantee a ratio of 1 instructor to 2 pupils, so you get more flying time and more coaching!

Course content:
  • Wind awareness
  • Carrying and set-up of equipment
  • Safety
  • Launching and landing
  • Kite flying skills
  • Body dragging
  • Using a harness
  • Re-launching a kite from the water
  • Board recovery
  • Water-starting
You will be using the latest 2006 Cabrinha range of kitesurfing equipment, including the revolutionary switchblade.
